Seattle (MAJ: 71-79; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 8-1 at Texas. Felix Hernandez (WI '03) got the loss with four runs on seven hits over five innings. Hernandez struck out nine on the night.
Inland Empire (California League Championship Series): The Sixers won the California League Championship with a 2-1 win over Visalia in Game Five of the CL Championship Series. Josh Womack (WI '05) hit an inside-the-park homer in the fifth inning for a 1-0 66er lead. The Oaks tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth. Johan Limonta (WI '06) drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-out double. Jon Lockwood (WI '05) pitched two scorless innings in relief for the win.
