Another opening day countdown

Over at the Timber Rattler website, I'll be writing pieces on various Timber Rattler Opening Days. Yesterday's first post is about 2003, or The Opening Day That Almost Wasn't

I do need to have a couple of quick edits in the piece. See if you can figure out why from this excerpt:

The scheduled Opening Day opponents in 2003 were the Beloit Snappers. At the time, the Snappers were the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, and Tony Gwynn, Jr. were among the players on that Beloit team. There was plenty of buzz about carloads of Brewer fans from throughout the area stopping in to check on who they would be cheering for at Miller Park .

Unless Rickie Weeks had a pass from Southern University, there was no way he could have been on Beloit's 2003 Opening Day roster. I'll make the change when I get into the office today.
