Welcome to the league

There is a new broadcaster in Dayton.

Following a search that carried them through more than 100 applicants, the Dayton Dragons have chosen veteran broadcaster Tom Nichols as their new radio voice and director of media relations.

Nichols, 43, has broadcast more than 2,400 minor-league baseball games from Class A to AAA and spent the last three seasons with the Gary, Ind., RailCats in Independent Baseball.

"I've been in baseball a long time," Nichols said, "and when I saw the opening with the Dragons, I was immediately attracted."

Who wouldn't be?

Welcome to the league, Tom. It's good to have another Northern League alum in the Midwest League.
