Just a taste

Ahhhhh, the Whitecaps. You're five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time Midwest League Champions had a food tasting the other night and the Grand Rapids Press was there.

Mmmm, that's good.

It was a common response during the annual West Michigan Whitecaps food tasting event Wednesday afternoon at Gordon Food Service, 333 50th St. SW.

Guests sampled items that included mini tacos, breaded ravioli, super chicken drums (legs), super pretzel and apple crumb cake bites. There also was the Icelandic seadog 5-ounce fish stick in a hot dog bun with lettuce and tartar sauce.

A fish stick in a hot dog bun sounds great but, try to top this...

The Whitecaps were especially excited about the "Cornzilla," which is an ear of roasted corn that can be dipped in three different butters: garlic, mesquite and Jamaican jerk-popcorn butter seasoning. They will offer a variety of toppings, too.

Cornzilla vs. Seadog sounds like a great sequel.
