SEATTLE (MAJ: 46-74 4th American League West): The Mariners beat the Angels 10-7 in 12 innings at Anaheim. Wladimir Balentien (’04) hit a two-out, three-run homer in the top of the twelfth inning to break a 7-7 tie.
TACOMA (AAA: 66-58, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Las Vegas 6-5 in 14 innings. Tacoma scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game 5-5. Jon Nelson (’03) drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the fourteenth.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 63-58, 22-29 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Carolina 2-1. Adam Moore (’06) drove in a pair of runs for West Tennessee. Tracy Thorpe took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Shawn Kelley (’08) pitched two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts for his eighth Diamond Jaxx save of the season.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 53-69, 21-31 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-4 to Lake Elsinore. Justin Souza (’08) allowed six runs on seven hits over three innings and took the loss. This was the fourth straight loss for High Desert.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 25-31, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 7-3 at Yakima. The Bears scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning.
PULASKI (Rookie: 34-21, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Bluefield 6-2.
PEORIA (Rookie: 17-26, 8-7 T-4th Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Rangers 4-1.
