SEATTLE (MAJ: 45-71 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 5-3 to Tampa Bay. Wladimir Balentien (’04) homered and drove in two runs for Seattle, but the Rays scored four runs in the top of the third inning.
TACOMA (AAA: 64-55, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won 4-3 at Tucson. Tacoma scored twice in the top of the eighth for their tenth win in a row. Luis Valbuena (’06) drove in a pair of runs for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 61-56, 20-27 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Huntsville 6-5. West Tennessee scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning. Johan Limonta (’06) drove in the tying run and Jeffrey Dominguez (’06) knocked in the winning run.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 52-65, 20-27 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 5-4 to Inland Empire. Justin Souza (’08) pitched 5-1/3 innings as a starter and allowed two runs on seven hits, but got a no decision as High Desert lost their third straight.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 22-29, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox beat Tri-City 6-1.
PULASKI (Rookie: 31-19, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Bluefield 6-3.
PEORIA (Rookie: 15-24, 6-5 T-4th Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 5-4 to the Athletics.
