LH EDWARD PAREDES: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.
RATINGS: Baseball America ranks Paredes as the #22 prospect in the Seattle Mariner system.
BRAVO: Paredes took a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth inning at Cedar Rapids on May 21. He allowed a two-out single to Anel De Los Santos, but finished the eighth without allowing another hit. The Rattlers beat the Kernels 1-0. Paredes struck out four and walked two for the win.
AWARD WINNER: Paredes was named the Midwest League pitcher of the week on May 26 for his performance on May 21.
LAST START: Paredes matched his career high for strikeouts in a game with eight in a start at Clinton on August 7. He allowed two runs on eight hits and three walks over six innings. Paredes left the game with the game tied 2-2. He got a no decision in a 4-3 LumberKing win.
VS.KANE COUNTY: Paredes beat Kane County on May 16 in Grand Chute. He allowed three runs on five hits over 5-1/3 innings and struck out five. The Rattlers won 8-6.
