Milwaukee Brewers Report: Games of August 16, 2009

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 58-59; 3rd National League Central): The Brewers lost 8-5 to the Astros. Milwaukee had a 5-4 lead with two outs in the top of the eighth inning, but the Astros scored three times in the eighth and once in the ninth to beat the Brewers.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 65-57; 1st Pacific Coast League American North Division): The Sounds lost 8-5 to Fresno. Mat Gamel hit a three-un homer in the bottom of the second for a 3-1 lead, but the Grizzlies scored three runs in the third to take a lead they would not lose.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 56-62 overall, 18-31 second half; 5th Southern League North Division): The Stars beat Mobile 3-2. Lorenzo Cain (’09) hit a homer and Drew Anderson drove in the other two runs.

BREVARD COUNTY (High-A: 67-41 overall, 27-17 second half; 2nd Florida State League North Division): The Manatees had their suspended game from Saturday and their regularly scheduled game with Lakeland rained out. The games will not be rescheduled.

HELENA (SHORT SEASON ROOKIE: 23-26; 3-8 second half; 4th Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers had their game with Orem rained out.

AZL BREWERS (ROOKIE: 21-25; 9-9 second half; 4th Arizona League East Division): The Brewers beat the Royals 14-0.
