BOWLING GREEN STARTING PITCHER (GAME ONE): LHP Kyle Lobstein was a second round pick of Tampa Bay in the 2008 draft out of Coconino (AZ) High School. He signed at the deadline and did not make his pro debut until 2009. Last season with the Hudson Valley Renegades, Lobstein was 3-5 with a 2.58ERA and 74 strikeouts in 14 starts. This season, Lobstein is 2-3 with a 5.36ERA in 10 starts for the Hot Rods. In his start prior to this afternoon, Lobestein allowed a run on two hits in six innings against the Clinton LumberKings on June 1. Lobstein picked up the win, struck out five, and walked two. Today is the first time he is facing the Timber Rattlers and an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Lobstein is rated as the #11 prospect in the Rays organization by Baseball America.
BOWLING GREEN STARTING PITCHER (GAME TWO): RHP Alexander Colome was signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2007. He went 7-4 in 15 games (all starts) for Hudson Valley in the New York-Penn League last season. Colome struck out 94 and walked 32 in 76 innings last year. In his start prior to this afternoon, Colome lost to Clinton on June 2. He allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits over four innings. Colome gave up four homers in that game. Today is the first time he will face Wisconsin and an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Colome is rated as the #7 prospect in the Rays organization by Baseball America.
