Jim Carver had three RBI in the first game.

In game two, the Foxes were up 7-4, but the Braves scored two in the eighth and three in the ninth.

Cal Ripken, Sr. went 3-for-4 with a run, a triple, and four RBI in game two.

The Foxes are still in first place in the Three-I League with a record of 39-23.

The loss in game one was the fourth straight for the Foxes. Kevin Renz did not make it out of the second inning and lost for the eighth time.

Ken Reed stepped up in game two and tossed a complete game five hitter with one strikeout.

Kent Torve had a pair of hits and drove in one of Appleton's runs in game two. Tom Forrester, who homered and drove in two runs in game one, knocked in the other run in game two.

The split moved Appleton's record to 51-27. They are in first place in the Northern Division of the Midwest League and 9.5 games clear of Madison.
