ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Timber Rattlers beat the Beloit Snappers 13-5. Wisconsin collected a season high 18 hits and scored in each of the first five innings to build a 10-3 lead. Khris Davis led the way with four hits and five RBI. Hunter Morris and Cutter Dykstra added three hits.
4 X 4: Davis has four 4-hit games this season. He doubled twice, homered once, and singled last night. He knocked in his runs with an RBI double in the first, a two-run homer in the third, and a two-run double in the fourth. His five RBI matched the high this season by a Rattlers player. Pete Fatse had five RBI in a game at Burlington on April 16.
HUNTER! Morris had a pair of doubles in his first three-hit night as a professional. The Rattlers first baseman has 19 hits in 17 games with the Rattlers. Nine of those 19 hits are doubles.
CUTTER! Dykstra moved his batting average to .308 with his three hits last night. He also stole his thirteenth base of the season. Dykstra is the team leader in stolen bases for the Rattlers.
SCOOTER! Rattlers second baseman Scooter Gennett had a pair of hits last night to extend his hitting streak to 14 games to give him the longest hitting streak on the team this season. Gennett is 24-66 (.364) during the streak that started with the first game of the second half.

A NOTE ABOUT THE STARTING PITCHER: Nick Bucci made his sixth quality start (out of 14) of the season last night. He allowed three runs over seven innings on four hits with a walk. Bucci hit three batters and threw three wild pitches, but picked up his fourth win of the season.
THE ROAD SO FAR: In the first eight games of their current nine game road trip, the Rattlers are 2-6. Wisconsin was swept in three games at Burlington and dropped two of three at Cedar Rapids. They have split the first two games of the series with the Snappers.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: The Beloit Snappers are the Midwest League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. They finished the first half of the 2010 season with a record of 37-32. The wound up in fourth place 6.5 games behind the Cedar Rapids Kernels for the division championship and three games behind Quad Cities for the Wild Card. Beloit is 6-8 to start the second half of the season. In their most recent series, Beloit dropped the final two games of their three-game set at Kane County.
2010 SEASON SERIES: The Rattlers are 4-9 against Beloit this season. The Snappers took three out of four games from Wisconsin at Pohlman Field in a series from May 1-4. The Rattlers went 2-4 in six games at Time Warner Cable Field against the Snappers in the first half. Tonight is the final meeting between the teams at Pohlman Field this regular season. The Snappers are at Time Warner Cable Field August 18-20.
COMPARE AND CONTRAST: The Timber Rattlers are hitting .250 as a team. They have scored 393 runs (4.8/game) and hit 45 home runs. The Snappers are hitting .246 as a team. They have scored 369 runs (4.4/game) and hit 43 homers. Wisconsin pitchers have a team ERA of 4.45 while allowing a total of 414 runs (5.0/game) this season. Beloit pitchers have a team ERA of 3.98 while allowing a total of 365 runs (4.6/game). The Timber Rattler defense has committed 119 errors. The Snappers defense has committed 99 errors. BELOIT STARTING PITCHER: RHP Miguel Munoz was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela in 2005. He appeared in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2006 and the Dominican Summer League in 2007. Munoz made his US professional debut in the Gulf Coast League in 2008 and was 5-2 with a 3.09ERA. In 2009, Munoz went 5-4 with a 4.96ERA in 13 starts with Elizabethton, the Appalachian League affiliate of the Twins. He is 6-5 with a 5.40ERA in 16 starts for the Snappers in 2010. Munoz has won five straight starts dating back to a victory over Dayton on June 9. In his start prior to this evening, Munoz picked up the win at Kane County on July 4. He allowed one run on four hits over six innings. Munoz walked two and struck out eight in the game. He has made two appearances against the Timber Rattlers in 2010. On May 2 at Pohlman Field, Munoz went 5-1/3 innings and allowed two runs on six hits, but was not involved in the decision. Wisconsin beat Munoz at Time Warner Cable Field on May 13. The Rattlers scored three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5-2/3 innings in that game.
