One of the youngest players in the Southern League at age 20, the Huntsville second baseman is making the most of his second Minor League season. He is hitting .295 and leads the league in hits (104), triples (11), extra-base hits (40) and total bases (167), while ranking fourth in steals (24).Read it all. You are probably familiar with most of the story.
Lawrie came into the season ranked No. 26 on MLB.com's Top 50 prospects list and hasn't disappointed. He was selected to Sunday's Futures Game, his second straight appearance in the contest, and earned a spot in Monday's Southern League All-Star Game.
A place to follow the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League, Minor League baseball, Major League Baseball, and everything in between in that order.
