Mariner System Report (Games of 9/1)

Seattle (MAJ: 63-71; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 2-1 at Tampa Bay. Gil Meche (WI ’98) allowed one run on three hits with eight strikeouts over eight innings, but got a no decision. The Devil Rays scored in the bottom of the ninth for the win.

Tacoma (AAA – 73-68; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 4-2 to Tucson. Bobby Livingston (WI ’03) allowed four runs on ten hits over eight innings and got the loss. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) had three hits and Adam Jones (WI ’04) drove in two runs for the Rainiers.

San Antonio (AA – 59-77; 32-36 second half 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 7-1 to Corpus Christi. Yung Chi Chen (WI ’05) had two of the five Mission hits.

Inland Empire (High-A – 72-65, 33-34 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 2-1 to Lake Elsinore. Casey Craig (WI ’06) had two of the five 66er hits and drove in the only Inland Empire run. Andy Baldwin gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings with six strikeouts for the loss.

Everett (Short Season-A – 30-41; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Vancouver 5-1. Natividad Dilone pitched six shutout innings for the win. Gavin Dickey homered and drove in three runs.
