Mariner System Report (Games of 9/3)

Seattle (MAJ: 64-72; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 7-6 at Tampa Bay. Chris Snelling (WI ’00) had a pair of hits and an RBI. Richie Sexson had two hits and two RBI. But, Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) gave up a three run home run to Kevin Witt in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase a 6-4 deficit.

Tacoma (AAA – 73-70; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 8-4 to Tucson. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) homered for the Rainiers. Adam Jones (WI ’04) drove in a run for Tacoma. The Sidewinders have won nine straight over the Rainiers.

San Antonio (AA – 60-78; 33-37 second half 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio was shutout 7-0 by Corpus Christi. Matt Tuiasosopo (WI ’05) had two of the four hits for the Mission offense as their season ended with the loss. Ryan Feierabend (WI '04) pitched three innings and allowed one run for the loss, but Feierabend is getting a September call-up to Seattle.

Inland Empire (High-A – 72-66, 33-35 second half; 4th California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 11-4 in eleven innings to Lake Elsinore. Justin Thomas (WI ’06) struck out eleven over 6-2/3 innings, but got a no decision. Johan Limonta (WI ’06) went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI for the Sixers. Jack Arroyo (WI ’05) had to pitch in extra innings and after a scoreless tenth, he allowed seven runs in the eleventh for the loss.

Everett (Short Season-A – 30-43; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 20-7 to Vancouver. The Canadians hit six home runs in the victory. Manelik Pimentel went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the Sox final home game of the season.
