Mariner System Report (Games of 9/4)

Seattle (MAJ: 64-73; 4th AL West): Seattle lost 6-2 at Detroit. The Mariners left ten runners on base for the loss.

Tacoma (AAA – 74-70; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Tucson 3-2. Jon Nelson (WI '03) hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to put Tacoma in front. Scott Atchison (WI '99) got the win with a pair of scoreless innings in relief in the final game of the season for Tacoma.

Inland Empire (High-A – 72-68, 33-37 second half; 4th California League South Division): The 66ers lost 9-5 to Lake Elsinore to end their regular season. Chris Colton (WI '05) had three hits and drove in two runs and the 66ers offense had sixteen hits. Next Game for the Sixers is Saturday in game one of the second round of the playoffs.

Everett (Short Season-A – 30-43; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox lost 2-1 at Vancouver. Ricky Orta pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts for the loss.
