Braves: May 24, 1957

The '57 Braves started a series at Wrigley Field against the Cubs on May 24 with a 5-1 loss.

Moe Drobowsky scattered nine hits and four walks in a complete game victory.

The Braves got the early lead in the first inning. Eddie Matthews walked with two outs and scored on a Joe Adcock double.

In the second inning, Frank Ernaga hit his first major league home run in his first major league at bat. Ernaga tripled in a run and scored on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for a 3-1 lead.

The Cubs scored two more runs in the sixth to account for the final score.

The Braves are 19-11 after the loss. They are tied for second place in the National League with the Dodgers. Both teams are two games behind the Reds.
