The '57 Braves faced off against Robin Roberts in an extra-innning duel on May 22. They came out with a 4-3 win in 13 innings. Roberts went the route.
Milwaukee trailed 3-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth. Eddie Matthews hit a two-out, three-run home run to tie the game. It stayed 3-3 until the bottom of the 13th.
Chuck Tanner hit one of his two 1957 home runs to lead off the bottom of the 13th for the game-ender.
Roberts went twelve innings and allowed twelve hits in the loss. The winning pitcher for the Braves was Juan Pizarro. He worked two innings and walked three, but did not allow a run.

The win put the Braves at 19-10. They are in second place in the National League and just 1-1/2 games back of the Reds.
The '57 Braves are off on May 23. They head to Chicago for a four-game series with the Cubs starting on May 24.
