SEATTLE (MAJ: 19-19; 3rd AL West): The Mariners beat San Diego 7-4. Jose Guillen was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI to lead the M’s. Horacio Ramirez picked up the win and JJ Putz (WI ’00) pitched a scoreless ninth for his tenth save.
TACOMA (AAA: 18-25; 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 5-2 to Tucson. Tacoma led 2-0 heading into the top of the ninth, but the Sidewiders scored five times in that inning to pick up the win. Adam Jones (WI ’04) had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 18-24; 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 11-6 at Huntsville. Sebastien Boucher (WI ’05) hit a home run and scored three times West Tennessee. But, it wasn't enough.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 16-27; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks beat San Jose 8-4. Jose Escalona (WI ’06) tossed six shutout innings and allowed three hits for the victory. Michael Saunders (WI ’06) had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for High Desert.
