Brewers: May 22, 1982

The '82 Brewers had one bad inning against the Seattle Mariners on May 22. But, that one bad inning gave Seattle a 7-1 win.

Gorman Thomas scored in the bottom of the first inning on a Fielder's Choice against Gene Neslon. That was about it for the Milwaukee offense.

Randy Lerch got the start for the Crew. He allowed one hit in the first two innings. The third was not kind to Lerch.

The Mariners were already up 3-0 when Jim Maler hit a two-out grand slam. Robin Yount committed a two-out error that allowed the M's to load the bases and extend the inning to Maler.

After that, Nelson cruised to a complete game victory.

Complete box score and play-by-play are HERE.

The loss drops Milwaukee to 20-18. They are in third place, six games behind the Boston Red Sox.

The series with Seattle ends on the 23rd.
