The '97 Mariners came back after their off day to beat the Royals 8-4 at Kansas City.
Paul Sorrento, Jay Buhner, and Ken Griffey all homered for the M's. Griffey's blast came in the ninth inning off former Appleton Fox Hipolito Pichardo.
Randy Johnson struck out ten over six innings for the win.

The win put Seattle at 25-21. They are tied with the Angels for second place in the AL West. Both teams are one game behind the Rangers.
