The '97 Mariners lost 11-5 at Kansas City on May 24.
Craig Pauquette had a pair of home runs, including a grand slam off Jamie Moyer in the sixth inning, to lead the Royals to the win.
The score was 7-4 Kansas City heading into the bottom of the eighth. But, Curtis Goodwin and Jay Bell each had two-run singles to put the game out of reach.

Seattle falls to 25-22 and third place in the AL West with the loss. They are two games behind Texas.
