Brewers: May 23, 1982

The '82 Brewers dropped a 6-5 decision to the Mariners in eleven innings at County Stadium on May 23.

Gorman Thomas and Cecil Cooper had home runs early in the game to help the Brewers to a 5-2 lead. But, Seattle tied the game with three runs in the top of the sixth. Jim Maler's two-run double tied the game.

Seattle scored a run off Rollie Fingers in the top of the eleventh. Manny Castillo's pinch-hit, two-out RBI single put the M's in front 6-5.

In the bottom of the eleventh, Bill Caudill finished up his 2-1/3 scoreless innings of relief for the win.

The Brewer record fell to 20-19. They are tied with the Yankees for third place in the AL East. Both teams are seven games behind the Red Sox.

The '82 Brewers were off on May 24.
