SEATTLE (MAJ: 44-70 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 7-3 at home to Minnesota. Seattle was down 4-0, but pulled to within 4-3. However, the Twins scored three runs off Mark Lowe (’05) in the eighth inning to put the game away.
TACOMA (AAA: 63-55, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Albuquerque 8-0. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05) hit a pair of homers and drove in three runs for Tacoma. The win was the ninth straight for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 59-56, 18-27 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 3-1 to Huntsville. Greg Halman (’07) drove in the only run for West Tennessee. Joe Woerman (’06) allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings and took the loss to Nick Ungs, who tossed a complete game for the Stars.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 52-63, 20-25 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 4-2 at Lake Elsinore. High Desert tied the game with a run in the top of the ninth, but Steve Richard (’07) gave up a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to take the loss.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 20-29, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox beat Tri-City 6-3. Four runs in the bottom of the third inning -- and four hits in the game -- were enough for the Sox.
PULASKI (Rookie: 29-19, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Johnson City 5-2.
PEORIA (Rookie: 15-22, 6-3 T-2nd Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Royals 1-0 with a run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
