Midwest League Action (8/3)

August 3 scoreboard.

@Wisconsin 3, Great Lakes 2: Good day at the park.

@Cedar Rapids 16, Clinton 2: It may or may not be possible to erase a season's worth of frustration in one game. But if it is, consider the Cedar Rapids Kernels' frustration against Clinton erased.

@Burlington 6, Fort Wayne 4: Today is slated to be the hottest day of the summer so far, and the hottest team in the Midwest League will not be playing.

Lansing 11, @Beloit 8: The score reached 9-1 in favor of the Lugnuts heading into the bottom of the fourth when the Snappers...

South Bend 6, @Peoria 4: "The guys played hard today and came up just a little bit short with the sticks," he said. "But that one's behind us now, and we have Burlington coming in for four, so we want to get ready for that.

@Kane County 7, West Michigan 1: “It felt really good,” said Richmond, who was the fifth straight Cougars starter to post a quality start. “I was throwing all my pitches for strikes. They were swinging for contact and it kind of helped. I made two four-pitch innings, which is pretty cool. I felt really good out there.”

Dayton 1, @Quad Cities 0: With two out and two on in the bottom of the ninth, Peoples swung at the first pitch he saw from Dayton closer Henry Arias. He roped the pitch into the gap in right-center field. The designated hitter rounded first base ready to celebrate a game-winning hit.
