Fort Wayne 6, @Wisconsin 0: Successive doubles highlighted a three-run seventh for the Fort Wayne TinCaps as they went on to beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6-0 on Wednesday at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
@Quad Cities 3, Beloit 0; @Quad Cities 6, Beloit 3: Hector Cardenas made his first outing of the 2009 season a memorable one. The Quad-Cities left-hander teamed with Kevin Thomas to no-hit Beloit 3-0 in the seven-inning opening game of a doubleheader watched by a crowd of 3,521 at Modern Woodmen Park.
@Kane County 7, Burlington 4; @Kane County 6, Burlington 1: For the second straight day, the Cougars had to pull a starting pitcher in the middle of a no-hit bid, but this time the script at least ended with a win. In his first professional start, Ben Hornbeck carried a no-hitter through the fifth inning in the second seven-inning game of a doubleheader Wednesday, but was removed before the top of the sixth.

@Clinton 4, Cedar Rapids 3; Cedar Rapids 5, Clinton 3: Ben Billingsley's walk-off double capped a thrilling first game as the Clinton LumberKings handed the Cedar Rapids Kernels their first loss of 2009 with a 4-3 win Wednesday night. Game Two was not as good for the Kings as a late rally came up short in a 5-3 loss.
@Peoria 3, Dayton 2: “We have guys that can hit so I don’t worry about (not getting run support),” Shafer said. “There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s not my job to hit, and they probably wouldn’t want me at the plate anyway.”
