50 Years Ago Today:

The Fox Cities Foxes had a doubleheader scheduled at Burlington.

In game one, scheduled for seven innings, the Foxes grabbed a 7-2 lead. But, the Bees scored five runs in the seventh to tie the score. A run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Bees the win.

Game two, scheduled for nine innings, was postponed.

The Foxes are 3-5 on the season. They will try to get another doubleheader with the Bees in Burlington on May 9.

45 Years Ago Today:

John Ward Mehring and Elizabeth Ann Fibelkorn were married. Their eldest son, who tries to make them proud every day, would go on to be a blogger and radio announcer. It's a struggle every day with that job description. JOKE! KIDDING! Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad.

25 Years Ago Today:

How the Foxes tied the game from the PC Article:
With two out in the eighth, Darrell Lanik dropped Jim Markert's foul pop. Given new life, Markert singled in Jerry Bertolani to tie the score 4-4.
In the tenth inning, Luis Peraza hit a two-run homer and Jim Byrd added a two-run single.

Dave White pitched the final 2-2/3 innings for the Foxes and got his third win of the season.
