BACK ON THE MOUND TODAY: Rattler pitcher Ricky Orta came off the disabled list today. He is scheduled to pitch one inning after starting pitcher Kyle Parker leaves the game tonight.

OTHER MOVE: To make room for Orta, Steve Richard has been transferred to the roster of the Everett AquaSox.

OPPOSING STARTER: Brett Anderson was the second round pick of the Diamondbacks in the 2006 draft out of Stillwater (OK) High School. Anderson signed too late in the summer to not pitch professionally in 2006. He is 3-2 in five starts with a 1.84ERA and 35 strikeouts in 29-1/3 innings. In his last start, Anderson won at Peoria. He held the Chiefs to two runs on nine hits over 6-2/3 and struck out nine without a walk. This is Anderson’s first appearance against the Timber Rattlers and an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Anderson is the son of Oklahoma State University head baseball coach Frank Anderson. The elder Anderson was the pitching coach at the University of Texas before taking over at OSU. The younger Anderson is rated as the #11 prospect in the Arizona minor league system by Baseball America.
