It didn't hurt, because Saunders is near the .300 mark and had 22 extra-base hits going into yesterday's action.After a promising debut at short-season Class A Everett in 2005, Saunders met his match in the Class A Midwest League in 2006 before turning things around in the High Class A California League in 2007.
"It seemed he was searching for a way to become productive," an AL East scout said. "He's got a lot of ability, but baseball isn't a game of raw talent, it's a game of developed skills, and he was still trying to find a happy medium with his tools. But he wasn't lost, and it obviously didn't hurt him to go through that."
