Look who's in Kane County

Second-round pick joins fray

I wonder if he'll be in over his head with :08 left in overtime? What's that? Not that Fray?
The first player to arrive in Kane County from the 2008 First-Year Player Draft will be Oakland's second-round pick, Tyson Ross, a right-handed pitcher out of the University of California, who was added to the roster Sunday and will be with the team today.

Cougars manager Aaron Nieckula isn't sure what capacity Ross will be used in quite yet.

"Who's that?" Nieckula joked. "I think he's a hard-throwing right-hander that can command the zone. I look forward to putting him in the rotation or the bullpen, depending on what [the organization] decides to do."

Oh, those wacky Kane County Cougars.
