LH EDWARD PAREDES: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.
LAST WIN: Paredes took a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth inning at Cedar Rapids on May 21. He allowed a two-out single to Anel De Los Santos, but finished the eighth without allowing another hit. The Rattlers beat the Kernels 1-0. Paredes struck out four and walked two for the win.
AWARD WINNER: Paredes was named the Midwest League pitcher of the week on May 26 for his performance on May 21.
LAST START: Paredes lost his fifth consecutive decision with a loss at Cedar Rapids on June 24. He allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits over five innings with two walks and six strikeouts. The Kernels beat Wisconsin 6-2.
VS. BURLINGTON: Paredes is 0-2 in two starts against the Bees this season. He has allowed nine runs (seven earned) in two starts over 5-1/’3 innings in those two starts. He has walked five and struck out one against the Bees in 2007.
