Mariner System Report (Games of 6/29)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 31-50 4th American League West): The Mariners won 9-2 at San Diego. Ichiro went 5-for-5 and scored twice for Seattle. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) drove in a pair of runs and Jeff Clement (’05) homered for the M’s, who picked up a road sweep.

TACOMA (AAA: 42-40, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 7-3 to Salt Lake. Bryan LaHair (’04) homered, but Joe Woerman (’06) allowed four runs over seven innings and took the loss, but it was a late rally that put the game away for the Bees.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 45-37, 4-8 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 4-1 to Tennessee. The Smokies broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh inning.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 37-43, 5-5 second half T-2nd California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 6-4 at Rancho Cucamonga. Leury Bonilla (’07) had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Mavs. High Desert had a 4-3 lead after scoring two runs in the top of the seventh. But, the Quakes scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth for the win.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 5-7, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 8-6 at Salem. Everett had a 5-1 lead after scoring four runs in the top of the seventh, but the Volcanoes came back to score six, grand slam included, in the bottom of the seventh to take a lead.

PULASKI (Rookie: 6-6, 2nd Appalachian League East Division): The M’s were rained out in Bristol.

PEORIA (Rookie: 4-3, T-3rd Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 10-7 to the Athletics.
