Here is how the Timber Rattlers have fared on June 23…since 2000
The Rattlers won 8-4 at Beloit. Justin Leone had three hits, a homer, and a pair of RBI. Juan Alcala drove in three for the Rattlers. Craig Anderson gave up two runs on eight hits over six innings for the win, his eighth. Rattler record after this game: (1-1, 39-31)
The Rattlers won 5-0 at Clinton. This ran Wisconsin’s record to 9-0 against the LumberKings during this season. Clint Nageotte, Jared Hoerman, Hawkeye Wayne, and Roy Wells combined on the nine-hitter. John Castellano drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double in the fifth to put the game away. Including the end of the first half, this was the tenth straight win for Wisconsin. Rattler record after this game: (3-0, 45-26)
The Rattlers lost 10-3 at Kane County. The Cougars scored six times off Emiliano Fruto in the second inning. That was more than enough for Dontrelle Willis, who allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings. Including the end of the first half, this was the eighth straight loss for Wisconsin. Rattler record after this game: 0-4, 30-43
The Rattlers lost 6-3 to Peoria at home. Reid Gorecki drove in four runs for the Chiefs. TJ Bohn and Jon Nelson each had homers for two or the three Wisconsin runs. Rattler record after this game: (1-4, 39-32)
This was the final day of the 2004 Midwest League All-Star Break
The Rattlers lost 16-15 at home to Quad Cities in the second half opener. Wisconsin trailed 16-9 heading into the bottom of the ninth. They scored six runs and had the tying run at second and the winning run at first, but the game ended on a strikeout. Rattler record after this game: 0-1, 39-32
The Rattlers lost 8-0 to Kane County. Joe Piekarz struck out 11 and allowed three hits over eight innings. Marwin Vega allowed five runs on five hits and four walks over 2-2/3 innings. Rattler record after this game: 0-2, 27-45
The Rattlers beat Quad Cities 5-2. Steve Richard allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings for the win. Alex Liddi homered for Wisconsin. Rattler record after this game: 1-2, 23-48
A 3-5 record, but that 16-15 loss to Quad Cities in 2005 remains as one of the most amazing games I've ever seen. So, an okay day in Rattler history...since 2000.
