SEATTLE (MAJ: 41-69 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 3-1 to Baltimore at home. Adam Jones (’04) went 3-for-5 with two runs scored for the Orioles. Seattle had just four hits in the game.
TACOMA (AAA: 59-55, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Round Rock 4-1. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05), Luis Valbuena (’06), and Wladimir Balentien (’04) each had an RBI for Tacoma. Jorge Sosa (’01) picked up the save for Denny Stark ('97).
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 57-54, 16-25 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 10-1 at Montgomery. Greg Halman (’07) hit a solo home run for the only West Tennessee run. The Biscuits have won ten straight games.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 50-62, 18-24 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks won 9-3 at Inland Empire. High Desert scored six runs in the first inning for the early lead. Kevin Reynolds (’08) had three hits and an RBI. Mike Wagner (’07) pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the win.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 17-28, 4th Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 11-6 at Eugene. The Emeralds scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for the win.
PULASKI (Rookie: 27-17, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Danville 6-3.
PEORIA (Rookie: 12-22, 3-3 T-5th Arizona League): The AZL M’s split a doubleheader with the Angels. The Angels won the nightcap game 13-1. The Mariners won game one 3-2.
