Midwest League Action: Games of June 15, 2009

Complete scoreboard

@Burlington 7, Wisconsin 4: "Give our guys some credit. They took the lead and we kept battling and did what we had to do to win the game," Gabella said. "We had some quality at-bats. And after that one inning, the defense was good, too."

@Peoria 8, Quad Cities 0;
@Peoria 5, Quad Cities 4: A gift run in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 2 wrapped up a doubleheader sweep for the Peoria Chiefs over Quad Cities on Monday night.

@West Michigan 5, Fort Wayne 2: The West Michigan Whitecaps held a players-only meeting at one of the oddest times -- heading into the bottom of the seventh inning Monday night against the Fort Wayne TinCaps -- in one of the least-secretive places: their dugout at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Lansing 11 @Dayton 2: “Lansing hit the hell out of the ball tonight,” Dragons manager Todd Benzinger said.

Great Lakes 6 @South Bend 4 (10 innings): Having to work a little longer didn't pay off Monday for the South Bend Silver Hawks.

@Cedar Rapids 6, Kane County 1: If you’ve spent much time outdoors in recent weeks, you’ve noticed the plethora of gnats flying around. They’re in your face, in your hair. You swat at them, but it does no good. They’re simply annoying, just like the Cedar Rapids Kernels last night. They were the Midwest League baseball equivalent of gnats, pesky little buggers who bothered the Kane County Cougars all night in an important 6-1 win at Memorial Stadium.

Clinton 10 @Beloit 5: LumberKings version | Snappers version
