Midwest League Action: Games of July 10, 2009

Complete scoreboard

@Wisconsin 5, West Michigan 2: The Timber Rattlers were given a run in the first by West Michigan starter Brandon Hamilton, who walked four batters in the inning.

@Kane County 5, Burlington 3: It wasn’t exactly how Cougars manager Steve Scarsone envisioned Chris Berroa scoring the game-winning run, but the Cougars speedy center fielder and his boss will certainly take it.

Great Lakes 7 @Peoria 6: Looooons version | Chiefs version

Fort Wayne 5 @Cedar Rapids 2: TinCaps version | Kernels version

@Clinton 6, Dayton 0: “Definitely to win a game going into the next series, everybody’s all confident,” Carroll said.

@Beloit 5, South Bend 1: Snappers version | Silver Hawks version

Lansing @ Quad Cities:
After experiencing heavy thunderstorms all morning and into the early afternoon, the River Bandits grounds crew removed the tarp around 2:00 p.m. and worked extensively on the field up to - and even past - game time. But 54 minutes after scheduled first pitch, umpires Nick Mahrley and Marcus Patillo deemed the field conditions unplayable and officially cancelled the game. Since it was the final scheduled meeting between Quad Cities and Lansing in 2009, no makeup game will be planned.
