Seattle (MAJ: 45-51; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 9-4 to Boston. The Red Sox hit five home runs in the game, all off Jamie MOyer. David Ortiz (WI ’96) hit his 33rd of the season for Boston. Adam Jones (WI ’04) was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Seattle.
Tacoma (AAA – 53-44; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 9-4 at Fresno. The Rainiers committed four errors in the game. Bobby Livingston (WI ’03) allowed nine runs (six earned) on twelve hits over seven innings for the loss. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) homered for Tacoma.
San Antonio (AA – 44-52; 17-11 second half 1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 6-2 to Frisco. Brian Schweiger (WI ’02) had a pair of hits and drove in one run for the Missions. Four Frisco pitchers combined to strikeout fourteen San Antonio batters in the game. Nate Gold had a big homer for the RoughRiders off Robert Rohrbaugh (WI '05)
Inland Empire (High-A – 52-44, 13-13 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 3-2 to Rancho Cucamonga. Luis Valbuena (WI ’06) went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his California League debut. Cibney Bello (WI ’05) allowed three runs (two earned) over seven innings and took the loss.
Everett (Short Season-A – 15-17; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 4-3 to Boise. Bryan Sabatella (WI ’06) homered in the game. The Hawks scored a run in the top of the ninth to break a 3-3 tie. In the seventh inning, punches were thrown after an incident at first base.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 13-11; 4th Arizona League): The Mariners were off on Friday.
