The '82 Brewers finished their series with the Royals at County Stadium on May 5. It was a 3-2 loss in ten innings.
Kansas City got in front with a second inning run. Greg Pryor singled in Hal McRae off Moose Haas.
Mark Brouhard answered in the bottom of the second. Larry Hisle drew a two out walk off Vida Blue and Brouhard hit a two-run homer to put the Crew up 2-1.
Kansas City tied the game in the fourth. Dave Concepcion singled in Frank White.
Blue and Haas would keep the game tied while they were in the game. Blue worked six innings. Haas pitched eight. After the starters left, the game became a battle the closers. Dan Quisenberry pitched four scoreless innings. and allowed only two hits. Rollie Fingers pitched a scoreless ninth, but got into trouble in the tenth. He walked Jamie Quirk with one out. Quirk had been 4-for-4 on the day to that point. After retiring Pryor, Concepcion doubled in Quirk for a 3-2 Kansas City lead.
Jim Gantner singled to start the tenth. Then, Paul Molitor pinch hit for Kevin Bass. John Wathan comitted an error on sac bunt and the Brewers had the tying and winning runs on base with no outs. Quisenberry got Charlie Moore to ground into a 6-4-3 double play. Robin Yount was at the plate with the tying run at third, but grounded back to Quisenberry to end the game.

The Brewers are 12-10 after this loss. They remain in third place, 3-1/2 games behind Boston in the AL East.
The Twins visit County Stadium to start a series with the Brewers on May 6.
