SEATTLE (MAJ: 13-11; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat the Yankees 15-11. Seattle was behind 5-0 after the bottom of the first inning off Cha Seung Baek (WI ’00). Seattle rallied and took a 14-6 lead with eight runs in the top of the fourth inning. Raul Ibanez (Foxes ’94) was 4-for-6 with two RBI in the game for Seattle. Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) got his first major league victory as JJ Putz (WI ’00) got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth. The save was the sixth of the season for Putz.
TACOMA (AAA: 14-15; 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Salt Lake 6-3. Adam Jones (WI ’04) drove in a pair of runs for Tacoma. Justin Lehr got the win with seven solid innings.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 12-16; T-3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 3-1 to Mobile. Chris Minaker (WI ’06) drove in the only run for West Tennessee. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) was charged with two unearned runs and took the loss.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 10-19; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 10-4 at Modesto. Adam Moore (WI ’06) was responsible for all four High Desert runs with a sixth inning grand slam. But, the deficit was too big for the Mavs to come back from.
