Signing Quickly

File this one under: That Didn't Take Long.

An ex-Rattler who was just released by the Mariners has already landed with an independent league club.
The River City Rascals, presented by Progress West Healthcare, have signed St. Peters native, Kevin Reynolds, for the 2009 season. The left-handed hitting outfielder ended last season with the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx, the Seattle Mariners' AA affiliate.

After being drafted in the 42nd round by the Mariners in 2005, the Desmet Catholic graduate spent three seasons in the Seattle farm system. Reynolds was a step below the major league squad in 2007, spending time with the Mariners' AAA affiliate in Tacoma.

"Having Kevin is a true blessing," commented Rascals manager Chad Parker. "He will provide a true top of the order threat to go along with an already experienced line-up."
And a few paragraphs down in the story there is this about another former Rattler.
Reynolds becomes the second former Mariners' farmhand to join the Rascals in the last week. Chris Colton was acquired from the Florence Freedom a week ago after spending five plus seasons in the Mariners' organization. The two were teammates in 2007 on the High Desert Mavericks, Seattle's high A affiliate.
Colton was a Rattler in 2004 and 2005.

Reynolds was a Rattler in 2006, 2007, and 2008. However if you blinked, you missed him. He played 14 games in '06, six games in '07, and three games in '08.
