Midwest League Action: Games of June 2, 2009

Complete scoreboard

Cedar Rapids 1, @Wisconsin 0: "We just want to continue to get better every day, and that's what we're doing, and all of a sudden, we start sneaking up there," he said. "So we're going to kind of keep it on the down-low a little bit and just go about our business and try to win on a daily basis."

Great Lakes 8, @West Michigan 7: "I don't think we're pressing at all. We've played well all year. We've lost four in a row, but that's part of baseball and that's going to happen."

South Bend 3 @Dayton 1: Dragons manager Todd Benzinger said he is looking for a time when his team just “plays average, or above average. “We’re either below average, or phenomenal.”

Lansing 4 @Fort Wayne 3: “It was a tough loss. That’s baseball sometimes,” Darnell said. “Daly has good stuff. You tip your cap to him. He got me there. He threw a good pitch. What can you say? They pretty much played better all around.”

Quad Cities 9 @Burlington 3: River Bandits version | Bees Version

Beloit @ Peoria:
There might have been an old man building an ark just behind the O’Brien Field outfield wall. It was tough to see behind the curtain of rain that the Peoria Chiefs and Beloit Snappers played through.

Until the game was finally delayed, and then suspended, the teams slogged through the rain and growing puddles on the infield and warning track, with a run each and one out in the bottom of the second inning.
Kane County 4 @ Clinton 2: Cougars version | LumberKings version
