Well, look who's here

Hey, Kids! It's me! Broomy McSweep! Sorry it took me awhile to show up tonight. I got packed under the bus and just got out.

Quite a series for the Rattlers with their first ever sweep at West Michigan...Good to see the folks that thought the Rattlers were still a Mariner farm team giving out credit where it is due...

Everyone seems to have their own explanation, but the West Michigan Whitecaps agree on one thing.

The three-games series against Wisconsin that ended with Sunday's 8-3 loss was about as bad as the Whitecaps have played this season.

The only question among players and coaches is why the Whitecaps suffered their first sweep at home since Cedar Rapids took three games at Fifth Third Ballpark July 26-28, 2008.
any minute now...
"It's a little of everything," DePastino said. "I thought we had played well against Quad Cities (in the previous series), but we didn't hold leads or drive guys in this series.

"It's a long season and there will be times when you don't play well and you get swept."
any minute now...
Whitecaps catcher Angel Flores had an interesting theory for the three-game sweep and eight losses in the past 14 games.

"We look a little under pressure," he said. "But Wisconsin does have some pitchers with pretty good stuff. Maybe we're a little tired, too. But we'll come back Tuesday."
Tired? More tired than the team that was playing it's twelfth road game in its fourth different city in 12 days? Interesting, my...bristles. Anyone else care to try?
Whitecaps shortstop Gustavo Nunez, who had four hits, two runs scored and a stolen base, gave credit to Wisconsin. But the Timber Rattlers have been a bit erratic lately. They won six consecutive games from May 16-20, but had won only three of their past eight before the West Michigan series.

"But they have some good players," Nunez said. "I'm sure we'll pick it up."
Thanks, I guess.

Until next time, I'm Broomy McSweep!
