ABOUT SUNDAY: The River Bandits beat the Timber Rattlers 4-3. Quad Cities erased an early 1-0 Wisconsin lead with two runs in the third and single runs in the fourth and fifth. The Rattlers scored twice in the ninth, but could not close the gap.
MULTI-BALL: Wisconsin had two homers yesterday for their first multi-homer game of the season. Chris Dennis hit a solo homer in the second inning. It was the third homer of the season for Dennis. Cameron Garfield hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth for his first home run of the season.
ERASED: Dennis put the Rattlers up 1-0 with his leadoff homer in the second inning. The River Bandits scored twice off Maverick Lasker in the bottom of the third. D’Marcus Ingram tied the game with a sacrifice fly and an error on the next play allowed the River Bandits to take the lead.
JUST ENOUGH: Quad Cities scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to build a 4-1 lead.
QUICK DAY AT THE OFFICE: The Rattlers and the River Bandits played Sunday’s game in one hour and fifty-four minutes.
COMBO #1: Scott Schneider (5IP) and Deryk Hooker (3IP) combined for nine strikeouts and allowed one run on five hits.
HECKATHORN UPDATE: Rattlers reliever Kyle Heckathorn pitched three scoreless innings of relief yesterday. The supplemental first round pick of the Brewers in the 2009 draft allowed one hit, walked none, and struck out four.
END OF THE ROAD: Today is the final game of the six-game road trip for the Timber Rattlers. They are 1-4 in the first four games. The Rattlers return home for a six-game homestand that starts on Tuesday. The Cedar Rapids Kernels visit Time Warner Cable Field April 20-22. The Beloit Snappers visit April 23-25.

QUAD CITIES STARTING PITCHER: RHP Eric Fornataro was selected in the sixth round of the 2008 draft out of Miami Dade Community College. He was 6-8 with a save and 3.03ERA in 26 career games (15 starts) in the Cardinals organization coming into this season. Fornataro went 0-5 with the River Bandits in seven games (six starts) at the end of the 2009 season. In his last start, he pitched seven shutout innings at Clinton on April 14. He allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out three for the victory. Today is his first appearance against the Timber Rattlers and his first appearance against an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
