ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Snappers grabbed a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and held the Timber Rattlers to three hits on the way to a 7-2 win over the Timber Rattlers. Reggie Williams drove in four runs for the Snappers.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Rattlers starting pitcher Maverick Lasker allowed singles to the first two batters of the game. A double by Steven Liddle drove in both runners. There was a hit batsman, a wild pitch, and two strikeouts over the next two batters. A two-out single by Williams drove in both runners for the 4-0 lead.
WRONG FOOT: Wisconsin has been outscored 26-8 in the first inning of their games this season.
SHUTDOWN MODE: Beloit starting pitcher Liam Hendriks allowed one run on one hit over five innings to pick up the win. He struck out six and walked one.
WHAT NO ONE HAS DONE BEFORE: Carlos George drove in Sean Halton with an RBI grounder in the bottom of the second. That was the first run allowed by Hendriks this season. He started the season with a scoreless string of 18-2/3 innings. Hendriks is 1-0 this season with an ERA of 0.41 over 22 innings.
SAY GOOD NIGHT, GRACIE: George knocked in both runs for the Timber Rattlers. He also sent Michael Marseco across the plate with an RBI grounder in the sixth inning.
HECKATHORN UPDATE: Kyle Heckathorn, the 47th overall pick in the 2009 draft, pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Rattlers last night. Heckathorn allowed a hit, walked two, and struck out three. He retired the first five batters he faced last night to give him 14 consecutive batters retired dating back to his prior relief appearance on April 18. Heckathorn has no record and a 2.25ERA in eight innings. He has struck out nine and walked two this season.
ALL GOOD THINGS...: Khris Davis and Chris Dennis both saw their hitting streaks come to an end last night. Davis went 0-for-4 and his nine-game streak came to an end. Dennis, who walked three times last night, was 0-for-1 and his seven-game streak ended.
YOUR FACT OF THE DAY: The Rattlers had not been held below five hits in a game this season until last night.

BELOIT STARTING PITCHER: LHP Daniel Osterbrock was selected in the seventh round of the 2008 draft out of the University of Cincinnati. He was 7-10 with a 5.19ERA in 28 games (26 starts) for the Snappers last season. In his start prior to today, Osterbrock beat Clinton on April 19 at Pohlman Field by tossing 6-1/3 shutout innings, allowing three hits, and striking out six. Osterbrock made three starts against the Timber Rattlers in 2009 and went 3-0. He allowed four runs (three earned) on 12 hits and struck out 22 while walking just one over 19 innings against Wisconsin in 2009. Osterbrock tossed a seven-inning complete game at Time Warner Cable Field in the second game of a doubleheader on June 7; struck out seven over five innings in Grand Chute on August 15; and allowed one run on four hits while striking out nine over seven innings on September 7 at Pohlman Field to earn his three wins against Wisconsin.
