50 Years Ago Today:
The Fox Cities Foxes were trying for their third win in a row when they were hosting the Cedar Rapids Braves.
They led 2-0. Then...I'll let John L. Paustian handle this from the May 5 edition of the PC.
The lights on the two towers along the third base side blew out after 2-1/2 innings interrupting an intriguing pitching duel between two fine young lefties - the Foxes' Pat Gillick and Cedar Rapids' Dennis Overby.
If you are keeping track: The Foxes were rained out two out of three days in Cedar Rapids. Thy had played the previous day at Goodland Field, so this makes one of two days on the schedule against the Braves that a game got postponed. They will try again on May 5, 1960.

Norberto Martin drove in the final two runs of that four run eighth inning. These insurance runs were more than enough.
