Mariner System Report (Game of 6/30

Seattle (MAJ: 41-40; 3rd AL West): Seattle lost to Colorado 2-0. The Mariners managed just two hits off Josh Fogg, who threw a complete game. Jamie Moyer also tossed a complete game, but took the loss.

Tacoma (AAA – 45-36; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Fresno 8-3. Francisco Cruceta struck out eleven over seven innings for the win. Shin Soo Choo (WI ’02) went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored.

San Antonio (AA – 33-43; 6-2 second half 2nd Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Frisco 4-2. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ’05) pitched seven scoreless innings; allowed four hits; and struck out five for his second Texas League win. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI for the Missions. Mark Lowe (WI '05) got the save by getting a strikeout with the tying runs on base for the final of the bottom of the ninth.

Inland Empire (High-A – 44-33, 5-2 second half; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 9-4 at Rancho Cucamonga. Brent Johnson (WI ’05) had another three-hit game and Casey Craig (WI ’06) homered for the 66ers. Shawn Nottingham (WI ‘05) gave up all nine runs on eight hits to get the loss.

Everett (Short Season-A – 9-3; 2nd Northwest League West Division): Everett beat Salem-Keizer 5-1. Leury Bonilla homered and drove in a pair of runs and Dean Zorn added three hits for the Sox. Steve Uhlmensiek gave up one run over five innings for his first win of the year.

AZL M’s (Rookie – 5-3; T-2nd Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Angels 5-4. Carlos Peguero had a pair of homers, including the game winner in the bottom of the ninth to snap a 4-4 tie.
