Seattle (MAJ: 42-41; 2nd AL West): Seattle lost 4-3 to Colorado in eleven innings. Richie Sexson and Ichiro both homered for the Mariners. Brian Fuentes (WI ’97) got the win for the Rockies.
Tacoma (AAA – 47-36; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma topped Fresno 6-5. Shin-soo Choo (’02) had three more hits, including his eleventh home run of the year. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) had three hits and drove in a run. Bobby Livingston (WI ’03) allowed four runs over six innings for the win.
San Antonio (AA – 35-43; 8-2 second half T-1st Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Frisco 8-1. Yung Chi Chen (WI ’05) was 3-for-5 and Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) had a home run for the Missions. Ryan Rowland-Smith (WI ’03) worked 1-1/3 innings of scoreless relief and got the save.
Inland Empire (High-A – 44-35, 5-4 second half; T-3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 15-7 at Rancho Cucamonga. Jeff Dominguez (WI ’06) had three RBI and Casey Craig had three hits for the 66ers. Former Cedar Rapids Kernel starter Nick Adenhart got the win for the Quakes in his first California League start.
Everett (Short Season-A – 9-5; T-2nd Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 5-3 to Vancouver. The Canadians scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie. Chris Minaker had three hits for the Sox in the loss.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 6-3; 2nd Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Cubs 5-2. Geraldo Avila drove in three runs for the M’s.
