Seattle (MAJ: 42-42; 3rd AL West): Seattle lost 7-1 to the Angels. Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) gave up five runs over 6-2/3 innings to take the loss. Shin-soo Choo (WI ’02) doubled in three at bats for the Mariners as the starting centerfielder.
Tacoma (AAA – 48-36; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Fresno 8-1. Cesar Jimenez (WI ’03) pitched eight shutout innings for his fifth win of the season. Adam Jones (WI ’04) hit his twelfth home run and knocked in two runs for the Rainiers.
San Antonio (AA – 35-44; 8-3 second half; 2nd Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 7-4 at Frisco. Mike Wilson (WI ’05) had a pair of RBI for the Missions. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’02) lasted just 2-2/3 innings and was tagged with the loss.
Inland Empire (High-A – 44-36, 5-5 second half; T-3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 12-4 at Rancho Cucamonga. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) allowed six runs (three earned) for the loss. The offense managed just four hits.
Everett (Short Season-A – 9-6; 3rd Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 8-6 to Vancouver. The Sox held a 6-5 lead heading into the eighth, but the Canadians scored one in the eighth and two in the ninth for the win. Kuo-Hui Lo homered and drove in a pair for the Sox.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 7-3; 2nd Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Giants 8-1. Aric Van Gaalen scattered eight hits over five innings and allowed just one run for the win. Alex Meneses had a pair of hits, scored three runs, and drove in one for the Mariners.
