Seattle (MAJ: 42-45; 3rd AL West): Seattle lost 6-1 to Detroit. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) took the loss and gave up all six runs on ten hits over 7-2/3 innings. Mark Lowe (WI ’05) made his major league debut for the Mariners and pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a pair of strikeouts.
Tacoma (AAA – 48-38; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 8-2 to Portland. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) went 4-for-4 for the Rainiers. Terrmel Sledge (WI ’01) homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Beavers.
San Antonio (AA – 36-47; 9-6 second half 2nd Texas League South Division): San Antonio beat Midland 4-3. The Missions scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for the win. Sebastien Boucher (WI ’05) scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Jason Burgeois singled in the winning run. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the win.Boucher had three hits in the game.
Inland Empire (High-A – 46-38, 7-7 second half; T-2nd California League South Division): Lancaster beat Inland Empire 16-3. Aaron Jensen (WI ’05) gave up ten runs over 2-1/3 innings. Juan Doñe (WI ’02) gave up six runs over 2-2/3 innings. Josh Womack (WI ’05) drove in two runs for the 66ers.
Everett (Short Season-A – 10-9; T-3rd Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 6-2 at Vancouver. Adam Moore had three hits for the Sox.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 8-5; T-3rd Arizona League): The Mariners lost 11-9 to the Athletics.
