Sunday Reading

Brett at RattlersReport.com answers the question, "So you want to be an owner of a baseball team?" Also, Brett has a story from last week about Harold Williams.

Tom Hardricourt at jsonline.com goes over the AL vs. NL argument; Dusty Baker's travails; and various other items.

Larry Stone has everything that you wanted to know about SABR, but were afraid to ask. Like what the heck does SABR stand for? Society for American Baseball Research. Apparently, the conventioneers do not dress up like Klingons and speak Vulcan.

Over at the Battle Creek Enquirer there is a story about Brady Williams, the hitting coach for the Devil Rays and the son of former major league manager Jimy Williams.

Jose Canseco isn't done yet...The San Diego Surf Dogs have signed him...To DH and be a knuckleball throwing relief pitcher. I'm trying to figure out if this quote is an attempt at humor or just Jose being classy.

“I’m looking forward to having fun in professional baseball again, as I’ve really missed it,” said Canseco. “I love what this league is doing for players, communities, and families, and I want to be part of it. Rickey had a great experience with the Surf Dawgs last year and it will be great playing for Terry Kennedy and reminding him of the stomping my A’s gave his Giants in the ’89 World Series!”

Stay classy, Jose.

Spare a thought for Peter Gammons.

The Wisconsin Sports Bar has a couple of posts on the Brewers loss in Minnesota last night.
