Mariner System Report (Games of 5/10)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 14-24 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 8-4 to the Chicago White Sox. Chicago scored six runs in the second inning for a big early lead. Matt Thornton (’00) worked a scoreless ninth for the Sox. Cha Seung Baek (’00), Mark Lowe (’00), and Ryan Rowland-Smith (’03) all pitched out of the Seattle Bullpen and did not allow a run. But, the Mariners lost their fifth in a row.

TACOMA (AAA: 17-17, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers were rained out in Omaha. They will play a doubleheader today.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 23-13, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 7-2 at Birmingham. Adam Moore (’06) had two hits and drove in a run for West Tennessee, but the Diamond Jaxx could not hold an early 2-0 lead.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 16-20, T-2nd California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Rancho Cucamonga 10-4. Leury Bonilla (’07) had three hits and an RBI for High Desert. Kyle Parker pitched five innings and allowed four runs with five strikeouts for his third win of the season. The Mavs broke their five-game losing streak with the win.
